About Mast Photography
Also known as 'low-altitude' or 'low-level' aerial photography, mast photography involves placing a digital camera atop a tall, extendable pole.
Images From Above uses a telescopic mast capable of nearly 20 meters. At these heights the camera is able to effectively capture detail of the subject matter -yet still showcase the surrounding landscape.
The camera, mounted to a robotic pan/tilt unit, is connected via wire to a laptop at the base. Angle adjustments and the camera's functions are controlled on the fly. A live viewfinder is shown on the laptop and images captured at will.
The mast itself is manually raised and lowered to achieve the desired height. It is completely safe, silent and unobtrusive to operate. Set-up and take-down is relatively quick.
The resulting images are effective marketing or display tools. There is nothing better to visually convey a location than an aerial photograph.
